Alphonse Mucha Gismonda puzzle. Lithograph poster from 1894. Generally considered one of the foundational works of the Art Nouveau movement, Alphonse Mucha’s Gismonda first appeared in Paris in 1895 promoting Victroien Sardou’s play starring French actress Sarah Bernhardt. The poster features the actress holding a palm leaf decked out in an elegant gold and white royal robe with exotic pink flowers in her red hair. The title of the play appears at the top of the poster and the theatre appears at the bottom, both ornately decorated in the style that would typify much of Mucha’s commercial work. A great gift for fans of Mucha, art nouveau, and vintage theatre posters.

I was a bit disappointed to find that for the price the puzzle was only a small 252 pieces ..... but ....... it is so intricate that if it was bigger I would be frazzled by now
bought as a special Christmas jigsaw for work colleagues to play with in our breaks - it is a great way to get the team to collaborate on something fun, and to start conversations between folk, and a great positive opportunity to provide compliments on the effort put in and progress being made
the puzzle itself is beautifully made - each piece feels lovely (not a cheap cardboard puzzle) and the shapes are all similar but different
Still a work in progress after a week - it's great!!!!
a truly lovely thing ... it will come out each year - both at work and at home. great image, and fantastic finish on the pieces
