Alice Paul Suffragette Historical Photo Collage Cushion

Women, if you enjoy your right to vote then you have Alice Paul to thank! Ms. Paul stands out as an extremely important suffragette leader. Born in 1885, she dedicated her life to Women's Suffrage. She spend decades devoted to the cause including being arrested many times, force fed during prison hunger strikes, beaten, belittled, harassed, and dismissed. She and Lucy Burns formed the National Women's Party, an organisation that is still active today on equal rights. She drafted first Equal Rights Amendment which still is not ratified and made sure that there was an equal rights affirmation in the charter of the United Nations. She was still active during the Woman's Lib movement in the 70's and only stopped because of a debilitating stroke in 1974. She died in her home state of New Jersey in 1977.
