Selection from the larger painting “Sustenance”. Sacred Letter Series: In Latin scripts each letter in a word stands alone… stoic, individualistic, and unrepentant. While in Arabic scripts letters must embrace, bend and morph to create a communal whole. Calligraphy and illumination continue to be the highest forms of artistic expression in Islamic traditions. As such, intermittent Arabic letters are used here to reflect an identity that is a fusion of both worlds: individual sacred parts retain their separate-ness while intertwining with one another to create balance and a more beautiful whole. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
