"A Fine Day" Japanese Ink Painting Poster

From Google Art Project: The fleeting blue sky during the rainy season, and a group of jumping frogs with expressive faces that are almost caricatures. Other frogs are fighting with one another, as if doing sumo wrestling, which gives a warm, pleasant atmosphere. To depict these frogs, Seiho carefully studied them while crawling on the ground for ten days. Ukiyo-e ("pictures of the floating world") is a genre of Japanese woodblock prints (or woodcuts) and paintings produced between the 17th and the 20th centuries, featuring motifs of landscapes, tales from history, the theatre, and pleasure quarters. It is the main artistic genre of woodblock printing in Japan.
