9-2-5 Poem Poster

This is a poem I (Kristopher Ivie) wrote in 2013 for a poetry competition in the YDR (a local newspaper). The editor, Stacia Fleegal, produced a collection of the winning poems titles, "I Will Write My Name on a Stone: Versify's 2013 Poems of the Month" which is available on ISSUU. This poem is on page 17 and was the winning entry for September of that year. I used the old 9 to 5 workweek with a 9, 2, and 5 syllable nonce poem. The 2 syllables are a shout out to the day of the work week. On monday "I WISH", tuesday I "WAKE UP", Wednesday is "HUMP DAY", by Thursday I'm "Burned Out", and Friday is my "REWARD!" when I finally get paid. With COVID I've had times where I needed to work from home. My dog decided to be my co-worker and one day decided to take over my workstation. I took a photo of him hard at work and decided to use it for this poem. This is a very meme worthy poem.
