2/47th Valorous Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster Bumper Sticker

The 2/47th Infantry was awarded its first Valorous Unit Award for the Battle of Long Binh - Bien Hoa on January 31, 1968, the Tet Offensive. A bit over three months later, it earned a second VUA, this one entitled Saigon, 6-12 May 68, but the battle along the banks of the Kinh Doi Canal in Saigon. was more popularly known as "Little Tet", "Min-Tet", and "The Battle for the Y Bridge". The awards, the unit equivalent of the individual Silver Star, in each instance were made a year after the actions, so most Panthers who fought in both battles are unaware they were entitled to wear the VUA with Oak Leaf Cluster.
