Diwali the most awaited festival of Hindus celebrating the Victory of divine over evil. According to the Indian historical texts Lord Rama exiled for 14 years and during the time of exile The Lord of Lanka Demon Ravana kidnapped mother Sita just to revenge his sister's insult shoorpnakha whose nose had been cut by the younger brother of Lord Rama, Shree Lakshman Jee. With the Help of Monkey King Sugreeva and his fierce warriors, Hangman, Jamvant,Angad, Nal Neel, and many a innumerable warriors Lord Rama Invaded on Lanka , reached there constructing a floating bridge of stones from Aaryavart to Lanka. (The bridge is still safe and can be seen at rameshwaram ant Sri Lanka as well known as Adam's bridge) Lord Rama killed every single demon of Lanka and in the final battle Demon Ravan was also killed by The Hands of Lord Rama ,thus Lord Rama made Sita Jee free from the imprisonment of Demon Ravana. After killing Ravan Lord Rama announced Vibhishana the new king of Lanka and handed over him the entire won kingdom of Demon Ravan. The Lord Rama and mother Sita was returning to ayodhya, the people of ayodhya lit the entire ayodhya on amavasya by the clay lamps from pure desi ghee to welcome their beloved king Lord Rama. Since then the the festival is being celebrated by the people of Aaryavart for ages and still it is celebrated with great pomp and show. It is the day when people worship goddess of wealth Lakshmi Jee praying her to grant them with prosperity throughout the year. HAPPY DIWALI.
