1934 Tripolitania 1 Lire Air Mail stamp depicting Libyan soldiers serving in the Camel Corp viewing an aeroplane transporting mail. The stamp issued during the time period of Italian control of modern day Libya. Tripolitania's history includes settlement and occupation by Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Arabs, the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire. The region was captured by the Italians after the 1911 Turko-Italian war. After WWII, Libya came under UN Trusteeship administered by the United Kingdom and France in 1947. In 1949 the United Nations passed a resolution that Libya should become independent before 1952 which was followed by establishment of the Kingdom of Libya in 1951

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
