1932 Candrain Map of San Francisco California Cushion
An appealing 1932 art deco style pocket map of San Francisco, California, by H. A. Candrian. Issued just prior to World War II this map covers the city from Presidio Park as far south as McLaren Park and the Laguna de la Merced. The map names all major and minor streets as well as trolley lines, lakes, golf courses, piers, municipal buildings, colleges, and military installations. Parks and public areas are highlighted in green. Surrounded by an art deco segmented border. This image (or other media file) is in the public domain because its copyright has expired. This applies to Australia, the European Union and those countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 70 years.

I was born to love this pillow. My maiden name is Candrian (not Candrain... as listed in this item's title. The title spells it wrong). The guy who made this map, Herman Candrian, is one of my relatives, so automatically the pillow is pretty amazing to me. I went with the polyester material instead of cotton though, since poly doesn't wrinkle. But the poly seems cheap to me, and I'm wishing I would have gone with the cotton instead. Ah well. The actual map is more of a minty color than this lime green color printed on the pillow, but it's still a cool concept for a pillow.
