There was a revival of past styles in the 1920s, which led to the birth of haute couture vintage fashion. This was a time when fashion designers began to focus on creating garments that were both elegant and accessible to a wider range of people. Many of the Raids Clothes establishments disappeared and were replaced by department stores which helped to democratise fashion. There was a greater emphasis on comfort and simplicity, which resulted in the popularity of sportswear.
