1657 Jansson Map of the Empire of Charlemagne - Geographicus This is a remarkable example of Jan Jansson's 1657 mapping of the Empire of Charlemagne. Covers from Spain to the Black Sea and from Denmark and Ireland to North Africa. Filled with copious notations in Latin. Decorative sailing vessels ply the Mediterranean. A decorative title cartouche appears in the upper right quadrant. This remarkable map was published in volume six, the Orbis Antiquus, of Jan Jansson's Novus Atlas.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
