This division, known as the Mountaineers, is the only one of this size that has been trained for combat in harsh, hostile situations. They were founded during WWII and played an important role in wars like as the Italian Alps, when their experience proved crucial. Operating in challenging mountainous terrain, the 10th Mountain Division has played an important role in more recent conflicts, such as the War in Afghanistan. This design features the troops' original shoulder patch as a tribute to their bravery, skill, and devotion.
