【おどりかに】蟹紋／蟹は、甲冑姿で武器をかざし、突撃する武士の形に似ている為、紋章化されたといわれる。（伊藤幸作編「日本の紋章」）／蟹を紋章にした意義は明らかでないが、思うに、堅甲で身を固め、鋭いはさみをかざして横行する姿が、さながら武士の姿勢に似ているところからきたもので、すなわち、尚武的意義に基づいたものであろう。（沼田頼輔著「日本紋章学」）
