【あきたおうぎ】扇紋/建久年間（１１９０～）安東貞季が召されて、はるばる上洛した。そのとき、後鳥羽天皇から、美しい檜扇を賜わった。たまたま高麗（朝鮮）から、大鷲の献上があったときで、記念にと「かの羽二枚、檜扇に載せて下し給う。弓矢取りての面目、何事かこれにしかん」と、『藩翰譜（はんかんふ）』（新井白石の集録、江戸初期の各藩年譜）に記している。 それが「檜扇に鷲の羽違い」の秋田家紋のいわれとされる・・・（高橋賢一著「大名家の家紋」より）／福井万次郎著「定紋の研究」ではこれを”秋田家檜扇鷲の羽”としている。

I bought this as a little extra gift for my friend for her suprise bridal shower as we were doing a clay making class so it was to protect her outfit! But it’s so beautiful she is also going to keep it for her kitchen (she loves baking).
